The architectural and political design of House of Commons is that the physical distance between the Official Government and the Opposition shall be a measure of two broad swords; therein, ensuring that each party on opposite sides of the floor may continue to vigorously swing at one another - but, shall never have one blade strike the other.
Apparently, Jim Flaherty practised these civil principles in his personal and professional lives to the bitter end; always ensuring that creative debate could thrive; and, that there shall not be any legacy of unresolved anger at the end of the day.
These human qualities are rare, indeed.
Therefore, on behalf of those customs and traditions that are of Original Peoples of the Turtle Island; we express Siem'stum / respect for this good human person; who has departed ahead of reasonable time; therein, leaving a deep regret in the hearts of family, friends and colleagues.
